Road to Championship

Cynology is the study of matters of dogs. It comes from the Greek words kynos for “dog” and -λογία or -logia, for ‘the study of.” What are the “matters of dogs?” “Matters of dogs” refers to dog breeding, training, handling, judging, and shows. Most cynology, especially as it relates to the sport of hobby cynology, occurs within the compounds of kennel clubs. With over 112 around the world, kennel clubs are organizations that focus on the different breeds of dogs, their promotion and responsible ownership, and register and coordinate dog breeding and showing. Dog shows, as in other domestic animal breed show (cats, rabbits, horses, livestock), bring together owners of different breeds to compete either in conformation, agility, or obedience trials.
